My 2015, personally, didn’t see a whole lot of big change overall. I still work at the same job, though I did get a promotion to a supervisor. I’m now in my own apartment, which is a pretty big change but ultimately not too terribly amazing in the grand scheme.
Said apartment has a toilet that only refills when you bang on the tank…so that’s fun.
I think the largest change in my personal life is being married. Which is a big deal to anyone…but being married to another man has been a whirlwind.

I am typing this blog post from my cellphone in the parking lot of a nearby strip mall. I’m sitting in my car, essentially hogging a parking spot near a local GameStop, except I’m far enough away where I should hopefully not be earning too many asshole points. There are seagulls wheeling around, which has me considering the wisdom of whether the sunroof should be open or not.

The reason I’m doing this in such a weird manner is because the weather has finally decided to be seasonal, and I can stand to be outside without turning in to a greasy bag of fat. Thinking about this, it sort of is a great synopsis of me–sitting in the climate I enjoy, in front of a place that caters to a hobby I love, doing a thing I have found to be a great form of release and talent.
Well…the talent thing is up for debate…but I am enjoying this all the same.
Thing is, we could maybe all stand to be enveloped in our delights, even if it is only about an hour before one has to report to work or whatever. In this state, right now, I find myself just….being. I don’t really think or find myself meandering in to worry. I just am.
I dunno why I wanted to share that with anyone here. But I did. So I am. I’m just gonna sit and soak it in. And I hope that anyone reading this has time to do the same today. Or soon.
A “real” post will be live in a couple of days. I have some article ideas I wanna line out, I just need to collect some footage and things. But I just wanted to sorta just share a seat with you all.
Now if only I could be rocking a Long Island iced tea right now…

First off, I apologize for yesterday’s post. I was in a goofy place. But, since this blog is about sharing myself, I figure to include that aspect of me as much as anything else. Wouldn’t be a very truthful window in to my world if I guided your view, now would it?
On point…there is one activity that I love to do during these days off I have. One thing I always look forward to and will make express time for. As far as my personal passions go, it’s about on par with gaming…or even perhaps a bit stronger.
That thing is cooking.
I even get chef’s clothing and lose about 130 pounds.

So I just learned a thing that I probably would have actually learned if I just…y’know…read a Twitter profile or something. C.T. Murphy is apparently a writer for the website MMOGames.com!
Go figure.
The point, though, is not to just only outline my own personal stupidity, but to outline a recent call to help him pull together a column. In specific, Murf (can I call him Murf?) has asked for those who are participating in Blaugust to list their top three or five personal favorite blog posts.
Now I haven’t really been doing this that much, so I don’t have a really large backlog. But still, I can appreciate that one’s time is limited by doing other things. So, in the interest of helping out, as well as in the interest of filling out a new day’s blog post, I’ll be putting up my personal top three posts. Why just three? Because my time is pretty short too, if I’m honest.

I don’t participate in hashtagging an awful lot when I’m Twitter except for the one associated with Blaugust and when I use them as an oh-so-clever comedic device. That said, I will admit that one particular hashtag trend that I kind of enjoy is the Follow Friday hashtag. And I say this not just because I’ve been mentioned in a couple of those.
Seriously, I’m terrible at this Tweet Machine thing.
The other part of Twitter that I have a bit of a hard time with is its forced brevity. And, because I like the idea of Follow Friday but hate the idea of being limited to 140 characters, I’ll be taking this Blaugust post to share my favorite people that I follow. Specifically, those who I have found in my life as excellent and opinionated people. People who inspire, entertain, delight or otherwise have enriched my own blogging and digital life.

I’ve been in a LOT of online comment sections over the course of my digital life, and I don’t really know why I make this blog post simply for the fact that I don’t think it will accomplish more than either preaching to the choir or yelling at the deaf. That said, there’s been something about online behavior on my mind recently, and it is relevant to my gaming interests.
The show Scooby-Doo always had the same formula…a bunch of precocious adult-children arrive in a world that apparently is made of Halloween to solve a mystery, finding a person who has put together a scheme that involves a ridiculous amount of makeup and set-piece arrangement. And in the end, the bad guy is literally unmasked.
With the advent of crowdfunding and early access games, there seems to be a very strong need nowadays for everyone to wanna be the guy or girl who pulls the mask off of the devious villain causing trouble for their own selfish ends. Everyone wants that Scooby-Doo moment.

Look, here’s the thing. A few days ago, my husband and I went to a renaissance fair in our area. It was our first time experiencing this one, and it was almost immediately decided to become an annual event for us.
But more than that, it got the two of us thinking about other nerdly pursuits that involve being outdoors. More specifically, it got us thinking about LARP’ing.
Clearly, we’re meant for this.
