And no, not just this blog, but that’s something I’ll touch on as well. What I mean is that City of Heroes is back. Legally. NCsoft gave a rogue server the ability to run as an officially licensed version of the game. It’s literally back from the grave.
Obviously this isn’t to suggest that the Homecoming servers were ever obscure. As a famous poet once said, “Don’t call it a comeback. I’ve been here for years.” But even knowing that Homecoming was easily the loudest, most well-known, and arguably the most populated of the COH emus going, that didn’t really encourage me to want to log in often. Sure, I knew my characters would still be there, Atlas Park would still be buzzing, and the LFG chat channel would have a pretty regular scroll, but I never could shake the sense that this was all just a long bout of coping.
